Giggleswick School is celebrating results day as the proportion of pupils receiving top grades rose by more than a tenth.
43.5 per cent of Year 11 pupils at the independent school achieved grades 7 to 9 in their GCSEs, marking an increase of 13 percent compared to 2023.
In Physics and History, more than 70 percent of pupils earned these top grades.
International pupils also did well, with 52.3 percent achieving grades 7 to 9.
The percentage of grade 9s rose to 10 percent, an increase from the 5.97percent figure in 2023.
Headmaster Sam Hart said: "I am delighted for our pupils.
"They worked hard and aimed high.
"It was wonderful to see their smiling faces when they came into school this morning to collect their results.
"They have been a super year group, and I am now looking forward to seeing them thrive in Sixth Form and start to take on more leadership roles across our busy and exciting co-curricular programme.
"I am pleased that, once again, we have seen a positive step forward in our percentage of 7 to 9 grades."
Head of Sixth Form and careers expert, Anne Coward, said: "When your child is going from studying nine subjects to three or four it can be easy to approach it by asking them ‘what they want to do’ but even for those who already have a chosen career path, young minds change easily!
"Most university courses accept applications from a wide range of subjects, the exceptions being more traditional careers such as medicine, engineering, and law.
"We have had successful applicants in the past who have combined Biology and Chemistry with History, a Language, Drama, or English Literature to give them a good blend of subjects.
"It’s not too late to reconsider what you want to do next if your results are different to your expectations – whether you’re a little disappointed or pleasantly surprised."
Limited Sixth Form entry places are available for September for those who do not currently attend Giggleswick School.
