SKIPTON'S WCF Pet & Equestrian is extending its charity initiative for a second year, building on last year's support for Aireworth Dogs in Need.
The store enables customers to support the dog rescue charity by purchasing pre-filled bags packed with essential items for the dogs, such as food, supplements, toys, treats, and health care items.
The bags, donated directly to the charity, are available in different values up to £10.
Aireworth Dogs in Need is based in Keighley and provides foster-based dog rescue services across the Aire, Worth, and Craven valleys.
Carol Clifford, manager of the Skipton store, on Cavendish Street, said: "It’s really important to us that we do everything we can to support local charities and the team has really got behind this initiative.
"As well as the donation bag scheme, we support the charity’s own fundraising efforts via our social media channels and through our in-store events, and this year we are also making a financial contribution as a company."
All eight WCF Pet & Equestrian stores across North Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cumbria, and south-west Scotland are participating in the fundraising scheme, with each store selecting its own charity to support.
WCF Pet & Equestrian has also pledged to donate three per cent of money redeemed in-store through its loyalty card scheme.
Caroline Porter, from Aireworth Dogs in Need, said: "As a small, independent rescue run entirely by volunteers, donations such as these mean such a lot and are vital to keeping the charity going.
“We have a great working relationship with the WCF team and are grateful for their support.
"Every penny donated goes directly to helping local dogs in need, particularly paying for vital veterinary treatment to ensure dogs are healthy and pain free."
WCF Pet & Equestrian is part of the WCF family of businesses, which operates countrywide in the retail, leisure, and logistics sectors.
