Littondale Fete celebrated its 50th anniversary with a record number of runners and a sun-drenched day that raised more than £4000 in total.
The four-mile road race, which was fully subscribed with 175 entries prior to race day, was won by Jack Sanderson, 17, of Settle Harriers in a time of 20.32, while second-placed Jake Norris (Bingley Harriers, also 17) wasn't far behind with a time of 21.08.
The first lady was Alice Jones of Wharfedale Harriers with a time of 24.57, while the first local was Arncliffe star Jack Paul (25.08).
The fell race programme, which saw 82 junior entries and 150 senior entries in total, began at 2pm, with races for U9s, U12s, U14s, U17s, and seniors taking place in that order.
The winner of the senior fell race was Tom Bell (Nidderdale Fell & Trail) in a time of 11.05, just beating last year's winner Simon Bailey, who came second place with a time of 11.11.
The first lady was Kirsty Hall (Wharfedale Harriers) in a time of 15.21, and the first local was Jack Paul (13.12).
The theme of Sporting Heroes was chosen for this year's fancy dress competition, with a Robin Hood outfit by Nola winning first place; in second were the trio of Molly, Jimmy, and Grace as the Irish football team, while Zoe took third as competitive swimmer and former Olympian Rebecca Adlington.
Skipton Brass Band's traditional music provided a cheery accompaniment to an afternoon of activities that included a children's race, a dog show, and a strongman/woman challenge.
WE Jameson & Son Ltd, of Masham, kindly donated fresh sacks and prizes for the sack race.
The strongmen winners were David Charnley and Adam Mason, and the strongwomen winners were Katie and Christine Buckley.
The winners on the side stalls were, for darts, Robert Cowperthwaite who scored a perfect 120 with 6 darts; for balloons in a tractor, Vaughan Smith, who managed 108; and for guess the weight, Peggy Spence, who guessed 47.5kg.
The funds raised by the event will go towards the maintenance and refurbishment of Amerdale Hall.
The Committee wished to thank everybody who supported the fete, and especially those who helped to make the day run smoothly: the car parkers, marshals, safety officials, judges, cake bakers and servers, stall holders, and all those who set up and took down.
