MORE than 330 visitors attended the three-day annual exhibition of Settle Photographic Group (SPG) over the August bank holiday weekend.

The 16th instalment of the exhibition was launched on Friday, August 23 at Clapham Village Hall by Shipley-based photographer and artist Shy Burhan, before opening to the public on Saturday, August 24.

The village hall was full of photographs of landscapes, the weather, insects, flowers, farming, trains, and other subjects.

Exhibits included a moody greyscale photo of a dilapidated building inscribed with the graffiti 'I never thought I'd love her...', by Jeanette Davidson; a greyscale nave roof by Paul Higgins; a steam train travelling on Ribblehead Viaduct, by John Cooper-Smith; busy sheep pens by John Bentley; the Château de Menthon in Annecy, France by Chris Chandler; and a passion flower by Gill Pinkerton.

There was much interest in the exhibits, with strong sales across a wide range of images.

The greetings card range, which was expanded for this year, also proved popular.

Entrance to the exhibition was free thanks to financial support from Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust, while refreshments, provided by Clapham volunteers, raised £433 in total.

A quiz kept the children entertained.

SPG members toasted the success of the exhibition with a meal at The Craven Arms in Giggleswick alongside family members.

The group aims to nurture the photographic skills of its members through its programme of talks, demonstrations, discussions, challenges, online galleries, outings, and exhibitions.

Members share their knowledge about cameras, photographic accessories, and software.
