SETTLE Victoria Hall has a huge variety of music, theatre, ballet and cinema lined up between now and Christmas.

The Dales venue kicked off its autumn season with world- famous violinist Andre Rieu in a big screen spectacular; and has something for everyone over the next few months.

This weekend, the world's oldest music hall welcomes the band, The Men They Couldn't Hang and West End Magic - a family-friendly magic show.

The Men They Couldn't Hang on Saturday evening will see the band that has been going for 40 years deliver 'much loved music and high octane performances'.

And, on Sunday afternoon, British champion of magic, Oliver Tabor, will present a mixture of magic, comedy and variety acts.

Later in September will be Celine Dion tribute, Celine: My Heart Will Go On; and for a change of scene, Giggleswick and Settle Brass Band will perform 80 minutes of harmonious tunes from England to Australia.

Also taking place in September is a talk by Giggleswick Railway Circle; and Relaxed Cinema will be screening The Miracle Club, about three close friends who having never left Dublin set off on a trip of a lifetime to Lourdes.

Highlights for the rest of the year are The Tashi Lhunpo Monks from Tibet on October 10 who with chanting, mantras, music and dance promise to open a magical window on the world of reincarnation and Buddhist mysticism.

British folk-rock fans are in for a treat when Fairport Convention performs on October 16; and again on October 27 with Gigspanner Big Band - a group which brings together several of the biggest names on the folk-roots scene.

Legendary 1970s folk-rock pioneers Lindisfarne fronted by Rod Clements will be in Settle for two nights, on October 31 and November 1.

The Phil Beer Trio, featuring the world renowned multi-instrumentalist Beer sharing the Blues roots of his musical life, will be on November 8; while also in November, Bruce Molsky will perform old time mountain music from America.

Alfred Wainwright archivist, Chris Butterfield, and musician Johnny Campbell, present a show of story and song in celebration of the landscapes of Northern England on November 17, and Gary Stewart's Graceland, a tribute to Paul Simon's landmark album, Graceland, is on November 24.

Andre Rieu: Gold and Silver will be screened on December 8, while Badapple troupe brings the panto Sleeping Beauty and the Beast to Victoria Hall on December 17.
