TWO of Skipton's charity shops have been shortlisted in a competition to find the UK's favourite.
Yorkshire Cat Rescue and Yorkshire Cancer Research, both in Craven Court, have been included in the Yorkshire and Humber region shortlist in the Charity Retail Association competition.
The Yorkshire Cat Rescue shop in Skipton is one of three operated by Keighley-based charity and has been open for six years.
It sells clothing, vintage and even cat themed memorabilia.
Supporters of the shop describe it as 'colourful and welcoming' while staff are described as 'always happy to help'.
One nominator said: "Within the store, the staff and volunteers are outgoing, loving, friendly and always happy to help you when possible. The volunteers there have a wide range of experience and knowledge regarding the products.”
Almost 6,500 nominations were made for the title of the nation's top charity shop across 12 regions, people now have until Monday, September 23 to vote for their favourite.
