PEOPLE who want collection tins for this year's annual poppy appeal are being urged to get in touch with the area organiser.
Collection tins will be distributed in Skipton and the surrounding villages in October ahead of the launch of The Royal British Legion annual poppy appeal on Thursday, October 24. There will also be poppy appeal stands at Craven Court, Skipton and at Tesco and Morrison's supermarkets.
Louisa Titorenko, who has just taken over the job of poppy appeal organiser for Skipton, said anyone who would like a collection tin can request one by emailing: skiptonpoppyappeal@outlook.com.
Wreaths for Remembrance Sunday, November 10, can be obtained from the RBL by telephoning 0345 845 1945; or https://www.britishlegion.org.uk/get-involved/ways-to-give/shop/wreaths.
Louisa said: "Please allow plenty of time for delivery. Due to high demand at this time of the year the RBL is unable to guarantee a delivery date for orders received after October 23.
The RBL is the country’s largest armed forces charity. It has180,000 members, 110,000 volunteers and a network of partners and charities; helping it give support wherever and whenever it’s needed.
It provides expert advice and guidance, to recovery and rehabilitation, through to transitioning to civilian life to members of the armed forces and their families.
