FOOTBALL and netball tournaments for primary schools are due to take place next month in North Craven.
Organised by Settle College's year 13 CTEC PE students, eight primary schools are set to take part in the events. The football tournament is due to take place on October 16 at Ingleton Primary School and the netball event on October 8 at Settle College.
There will be two tournaments, in the football event for years three and four, and for years five and six, and schools will play each other in a 'round robin' format. Games will be played by six a side teams, every player will receive a certificate and the winning team will receive a trophy.
A spokesperson for the netball event said: "We hope all the primary schools will enjoy the day and gain a love for the sport. If parents are free during the day, they are free to come along, watch their kids play and cheer them on. This is the first netball friendly event we will have hosted as a group but with the positive feedback from the Dales Cup we hosted at the end of the summer term we can ensure the children will have a blast and enjoy the afternoon."
