FROM classical music and opera to comedy nights, theatre and family-friendly shows, there is something for everyone coming up between now and the end of the year at Skipton Town Hall.

Nicola Mills brings Opera for the People to the Skipton venue this weekend in a show that promises 'Victoria Wood meets Pavarotti'.

Skipton Comedy Live for October features Britain's Got Talent semi-finalist Johnny Awsum along with Alex Boardman and Jessie Nixon in a show that is strictly for the over 19s.

There's more comedy in October with Steff Todd, a stand-up comedian and creator of the online hit 'Yorkshire Kardashians'.

Steff, who grew up in the Yorkshire Dales says she is excited to be performing a homecoming event in Skipton.

Also in October, families are promised a fun and exciting magical science show with To Secret; and Skipton Music presents: The Gesualdo Six and Matilda Loyd.

For three days towards the end of the month, Skipton Musical Theatre Company will bring Oliver! to the town hall.

Featuring the well known songs, Food Glorious Food, Oom Pah-Pah and Where is Love? Oliver! is a well-loved show suitable for all ages.

BBC Radio Four favourite, Alfie Moore, creator of It's a Fair Cop, will be heading to the town hall in November with his show Alfie Moore: A Face for Radio.

Indie-folk singer, Josienne Clarke and folk band Calan will both be performing at the town hall in November.

Cellist, singer and poet Sarah Smout returns to Skipton with her new show, Waterbaby, and Skipton Camerata will perform a Northern Score.

Featuring poet Ian McMillan and composer, Ben Crick, the show pays tribute to 20 celebrated northerners in words and music.

As part of its 20th anniversary, Skipton Camerata commissioned Ian McMillan and Ben Crick to create a Northern Score, the story of how the North of England has struggled, thrived and ultimately been defined.

Towards the end of the year, Hambledon Productions brings Hancock's Half Hour, The Lost TV Episodes. In Skipton as part of a UK tour, it is the first time the scripts, written by Ray Galton and Alan Simpson, have been brought to life since their original broadcast.

There is also the Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band Christmas concert to look forward to, as well as a Christmas Celebration, voices and brass, with the Skipton Choral Society and the York Railway Institute Band.
