Pupils at Giggleswick School organised and participated in a 55km race against ultra-marathon runner, and Head of STEM at the school, Dr Rupert Allison.
The 'Gigg to Gigg' challenge took place on Sunday, September 22, and raised almost £1,000 for charity.
The pupils coordinated every detail of the event, including selecting runners, identifying changeover points, and arranging vehicle support.
Their efforts paid off, as they crossed the finish line in five hours, beating Dr Allison's time of five hours and 21 minutes.
The event was overseen by the head of outdoor pursuits, Mr Keron, who provided guidance and support.
Dr Allison said: "At Giggleswick School, we have these incredible surroundings, and our pupils embrace the challenge.
"They were brave enough to pull this idea together, and there was a fantastic atmosphere throughout the day."
Headmaster Mr Hart, who ran the final section of the race, said: "This race exemplifies the kind of leadership and commitment we encourage at Giggleswick School.
"With the support of Mr Keron and the enthusiasm of our pupils, they were able to achieve something truly remarkable, all while contributing to a great cause."
The event was organised to raise funds for Martin House Hospice, with nearly £1,000 being collected for the charity.
Martin House Hospice provides hospice care for children and young people across West, North, and East Yorkshire.
Giggleswick School, an independent co-educational day and boarding school for children aged 2 to 18, was rated 'Excellent' by the Independent School Inspectorate in 2023.
It was founded in 1512, and has a 215-acre campus.
