ESSENTIAL repairs to the dam at Malham Tarn are taking place, requiring the partial closure of the Watersinks carpark.
A spokesperson for the National Trust, which has an office at Malham House, overlooking the tarn, said: "Planned works are progressing well at Malham Tarn to carry out essential repairs to the dam, as part of statutory requirements under the Reservoirs Act.
"To allow space for our contractors to work, we've had to close part of the Watersinks car park temporarily, so we urge people to plan accordingly if visiting the Tarn by car, and check the National Trust's Yorkshire Dales website for more information."
Tenants for Tarn House, the former Yorkshire home of Victorian philanthropist, Walter Morrison, and the surrounding four properties, are currently being sought. Agents, Savills, have given a guide price of £12,500 per year.
