A CHURCH in Ingleton has expressed its thanks after the completion of repair and refurbishment work the village clock.
St Mary's Church at Ingleton has spoken about the works as it looks ahead to other improvements it is planning in the church.
A spokesperson for St Mary's said: "St Mary’s Church, Ingleton, has been maintaining and improving our beautiful Victorian church.
"We are pleased to confirm that all works to repair and refurbish the village clock are now complete.
"We're grateful thanks to the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust for their grant support enabling this work to be completed as soon as possible.
"The clock face has been repaired and repainted, clockworks have been upgraded, serviced and the auto battery backup replaced. All to leave in good working order for years to come.
"Thank you all for your patience whilst this project was ongoing.
Following the completion of the project, we are working with the Church of England and a Give to Go Green Grant where the Church of England will double any money raised, in a six-week period, commencing on November 6, to improve our carbon footprint.
"Our next project is the draft proofing of the porch, improving accessibility, as well as renewing and repairing the Victorian stonework.
Further details of all events and opportunities to help the campaign will be available shortly.
