POLICE have launched an investigation after a beer barrel was thrown at a Mercedes car on a street in Skipton.

North Yorkshire Police has released two CCTV of a person they would like to speak with after the incident which took place on Sheep Street, Skipton, on Tuesday, August 24.

"We’re investigating an incident of criminal damage in Skipton.

"It happened between 12.08am 12.36am on Tuesday, August 24, on Sheep Street, Skipton, and involved a man who caused criminal damage to a black Mercedes car parked at the side of the road.

"A beer barrel was thrown at the vehicle, which resulted in the victim's insurance company writing it off.

"We've released two CCTV stills of a man we want to speak to, as he may have important information that could assist our investigation.
