A VOLUNTEER and patient is “bringing life” to Airedale Hospital’s outdoor spaces.

Helen Allen is a registered volunteer with Airedale NHS Foundation Trust and has been inspired to bring more life to the hospital’s outside spaces.

Helen, who has been undergoing treatment at Airedale, sought solace in the grounds of Airedale to break up lengthy days of appointments and various treatments.

As a keen gardener herself, she realised that the outdoor spaces could benefit from some additional greenery.

Helen approached Morrisons Skipton Community Champion, Clare Reeds who was more than happy to get on board with the sprucing up.

Clare said: “I’m always really happy to be able to support local causes. This is a brilliant way to bring some life to the various areas that Airedale has.

“We had a great morning with head gardener, Steven Holdsworth. He showed us the Woodland Walk located in the grounds of Airedale and other areas where a lot of the trees and shrubs will be planted.

“I’d also like to express my thanks to Mark Reynoldson of Mr Odd Job Removals for providing transportation of the plants.

“I’m looking forward to coming back with Helen and getting stuck into some gardening.”
