THIS Halloween Skipton BID in bringing a magical pop-up pumpkin patch into the heart of the town.
On October 26 and 27, residents and visitors alike are invited to enjoy a family-friendly celebration of all things Halloween with an array of activities, including pumpkin picking and carving workshops.
The pop-up pumpkin patch will be located at 9B High Street, the vacant unit next to Pizza Express.
Highlights of the event include:
• Pop-up pumpkin patch: The ‘Pop-Up Pumpkin Patch’, is perfect for pumpkin pickers of all ages who fancy getting into the spooky spirit, all while staying dry and warm. It has pumpkins, straw furrows, picket fencing and hay bales.
• Halloween monster trail: Ten monsters are hiding in shop windows around town. Find the monsters and find the hidden word to be entered into a prize draw to win a ‘spooktacular’ prize. (The trail must be completed to enter the Pumpkin Patch on October 26 and 27)
• Pumpkin carving workshops: Guided by experts from Sand in Your Eye, the pumpkin carving workshops will be held on Saturday, October 26. Learn tips and tricks to carve a spooky masterpiece and take home a hand-carved jack-o'-lantern.
• Live giant pumpkin carve: The artists from Sand in your Eye will transform an enormous Halloween pumpkin before your eyes. The pumpkin artists will whittle the pumpkin away to allow the personality of the pumpkin to emerge – it might be a troll, a witch, a monster, a dragon, an animal or a goofy face.
• Halloween crafting: After visiting the pop-up pumpkin patch on Sunday, October 27, people can enjoy some free Halloween Crafting by Creative Peeps.
The Halloween activities are part of Skipton BID’s ongoing efforts to support local businesses by drawing visitors to the town centre and creating memorable experiences for the community.
Sarah Howsen, Skipton BID Manger, said: "We are excited to bring this unique Halloween event to Skipton. The pop-up pumpkin patch is a fantastic way to showcase Skipton as a destination for family-friendly activities while supporting local businesses during this festive period.
“The pop-up pumpkin patch and workshops are set to offer a thrilling Halloween experience for all ages. Join us for a day of creativity, laughter, and Halloween spirit.”
The event will take place from 11am to 4pm on Saturday, October 26, and Sunday, October 27, at 9B High Street, Skipton.
Pumpkins are not provided at the workshops. Pumpkins can be picked at the pumpkin patch or bring your own.
