DIAMOND rings with 'significant sentimental value' have been allegedly stolen from vulnerable residents of a Skipton care home.

The four gold rings were taken sometime on Friday, October 11 and an investigation is underway.

Police are now appealing to anyone who may have been offered the rings to buy to get in touch, so they can re re-united with their rightful owners.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: "On Friday, October 11 four gold rings were stolen from vulnerable victims at a care home in Skipton. An investigation is underway, and a 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of theft. He currently remains in police custody.

"We are now requesting the public’s assistance to identify if they have seen either of these rings for sale.

"The first image shows three rings, it is specifically the middle ring which has two diamonds. The ring is in the middle and is the ring that was stolen.

"The second image is also three rings, a wedding band, engagement ring with three diamonds, and eternity ring with diamond inserts. All three of these rings were stolen."

PC Sharon Leverton from the Craven Neighbourhood Policing team said: “We’re keen to reunite these items with their owners as they hold significant sentimental value to them.

“If you have seen these rings on social media or local selling sites in the last week or have any information which will help us locate these rings, then please contact us as matter of urgency”.
