RESURFACING and repainting of road markings of the A59 at West Marton which has meant diversions for motorists all week is on schedule to be completed by the end of Monday next week.

The busy route between Skipton and Gisburn has been closed since Monday this week between 9.30am and 3.30pm for the work to take place, with motorists diverted onto the A65 to Hellifield and from there onto the A682 and on to the A59 at Gisburn.

Resurfacing of the badly deteriorated stretch of the A59 at the West Marton crossroads is due to be finished by the end of today (Friday). No work will take place at the weekend, and contractors are due to return on Monday to carry out repainting of the road markings, when the road will again be closed, from 9.30am and up to 3.30pm, weather permitting.
