A SOUTH Craven dental company is supporting Airedale Hospital and Community Charity’s annual gift appeal in a bid to spread kindness to the patients of Airedale NHS Foundation Trust this festive season.
Ethoss Regeneration, based in Silsden, is asking members of the community to donate gifts for both children and elderly patients.
The presents will be hand delivered by members of the Ethoss team in December when they visit the hospital to host a Christmas party on the children’s unit and also to spend time with elderly patients at the Steeton hospital.
Peter Wheeler, managing director at Ethoss, said: “Christmas may feel quite far away, but it’s coming round fast and we want to do something really special for our local hospital and their community this year.
“To be in hospital over the festive season must be incredibly hard, so we’re excited to be hosting a Christmas party for young patients on the children’s unit, as well as spending time in the afternoon with elderly patients. So, we’re appealing for donations of toys and gifts so we can spread some festive cheer.”
Laura Turner, communications and charity assistant with the hospital charity, said: “We’re really grateful to the Ethoss team for getting involved with our gift appeal this year. It can be such a difficult time for our patients balancing feeling unwell over the festive period with wanting to join in the celebrations.
“We’re so excited for the Children’s party, this will really help the patients get into the Christmas spirit.”
For children, the following items are required: Toys; dolls; books; stationary; colouring sets; selection boxes; educational games; hats/gloves/scarves; and activity books. For elderly patients, the following items are required: Hand creams; books; jigsaws; puzzle books; adult colouring sets; fluffy socks; and blankets.
All items must be new and in original packaging for health and safety reasons. Donations can be made at Ethoss Regeneration’s headquarters in Silsden, at 8 Ryefield Court.
