SKIPTON MP Sir Julian Smith is calling on people in Craven to share their views on the future of the NHS as part of a new 'We Need to Talk' campaign.

Being carried out by the NHS in Yorkshire and Humber, the four-week consultation, which ends on Monday, November 11, aims to gather community input on reshaping NHS services to better meet today’s challenges and future needs.

Through a combination of social media, in-person focus groups and a survey, “We Need to Talk” aims to discuss the urgent issues facing the NHS and seek the public’s input on possible changes.

Amongst the questions posed to the public are whether technology could be used better; and whether there should be a focus on preventing illness, rather than just treating it. The consultation also seeks views on whether more care should be moved into the community.

Sir Julian said: “The NHS is one of our greatest national assets, and it is vital that people have their voices heard in shaping its future.

‘We Need to Talk’ provides a great opportunity to share your experiences, priorities, and suggestions directly with NHS leaders. Whether you have faced challenges getting an appointment or have ideas on how services could be better, please do respond to the campaign.”
