SOUTH Craven scouts are preparing to take to the stage once again for the longest running Gang Show in the country.
1st Kildwick and Farnhill Scout Group will keep up with tradition and perform its 81st show on Friday, November 22 and Saturday, November 23 in the Glusburn Community and Arts Centre.
More than 90 beavers, cubs, scouts, explorer scouts and group leaders will take to the stage to entertain their families and the community with a rousing mix of sketches, comedy and singing.
Last year, former chief scout Bear Grylls sent a message of congratulations to the group ahead of its record breaking 80th Gang Show. The scout group was formed in 1940 and has held a gang show every year at various venues in South Craven since 1941, apart from in 2002 and also in 2020 and 2021 because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
It soldiered on with its sketches, comedy and group singing throughout the Second World War and it has seen more than 3,500 beavers, cubs, scouts, explorers and leaders taking to the stage over the years at a number of venues.
Doors open on November 22 and 23 at 6.45pm with a 7.15pm start. Tickets £9 for adults and £6.50 for children. Family tickets also available. Book at: www.kandfgangshow.org.uk
