A Rylstone joinery business is hoping to pick up two more awards at ceremonies in London later this month.

James Wilding Joinery's director, James Wilding, and apprentice, Harrison Ward, have both been shortlisted in the national awards.

Harrison has been shortlisted for the Apprentice of the Year award at the British Woodworking Federation Awards 2024.

The award winners are to be announced at a ceremony at the Langham, in London, on Friday, November 22.

Mr Wilding and fellow director, wife Emily, said:  "We are overjoyed at the recognition Harrison has received for his constant hard work and dedication to not only learn his trade, but excel in it.

"Harrison has grown into an exceptionally talented young man and continually goes above and beyond in all tasks he is presented with."

Mr Wilding himself, meanwhile, has been shortlisted for the Unsung Hero Award at the G24 Awards.

Launched in 2004, the G24 awards recognise achievements in the glass and glazing industry.

The ceremony to announce the winners will take place on Friday, November 29, at the London Hilton on Park Lane.

Mr and Mrs Wilding said: "As a small business, being shortlisted in these two highly acclaimed national awards is a huge honour, and we can't wait to celebrate these achievements.

"We are so proud of our team and the exceptional bespoke products that we make."

James Wilding Joinery Limited began for Mr Wilding in a micro-workshop in Gargrave.

The company is now based in Rylstone, and provides bespoke joinery to Craven, Ilkley, and surrounding areas, specialising in the manufacture of timber doors, windows, and staircases, as well as a range of handmade fitted furniture and kitchens.
