Parkinson's UK is offering up to £3,000 in grant funding for groups in Craven.

The charity's Physical Activity Grants programme, now in its fourth year, aims to help people who live with Parkinson's to boost their levels of physical activity.

The programme's grants are intended for physical activity providers, leisure groups, sports clubs, and others that can help those with Parkinson's.

Since the programme's inception in 2021, more than £554,000 has been awarded to 242 projects across the UK, supporting initiatives from wheelchair rugby to hydrotherapy.

A spokesperson explained: "Being active with Parkinson’s can have many benefits including better balance, strength, and coordination, as well as improving mental health and sleep.

"Physical activity can also help people living with the condition to socialise and reduce feelings of isolation."

Roma Hashim, physical activity grants manager for Parkinson's UK, said: "Whether you are part of a national sports association, you work with a local exercise group, or you are passionate about getting people active, why not apply for the grants in 2024."

Applications can be made for amounts ranging from £500 up to £3,000, and the application window will close on Friday, November 15.
