MOTORISTS have been 'thanked for their patience' while final testing takes place on average speed cameras on the Gisburn to Long Preston road before they start operating.
The cameras on the A682 have been installed by Lancashire County Council and are part of safety improvements along the road. The switch-on of the cameras, which end at the North Yorkshire border, has been expected for several weeks.
A spokesperson for Lancashire County Council said: "Our contractor Jenoptik is currently undertaking the final phase of testing on the new speed cameras on the A682 Gisburn to North Yorks boundary, which are part of a package of safety improvements along the A682.
"We expect the new cameras to be fully operational soon and would like to thank the public for their patience while we make these improvements."
