A WALKER on the final leg of the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge on Saturday had to be rescued after experiencing breathing difficulties.
The alarm was raised at around 4.45pm after a 44-year old male thought he was in danger of losing consciousness while climbing Ingleborough, the last of the three peaks.
A spokesperson for Cave Rescue Organisation (CRO) said: "Contact was made by phone with the walkers’ companions who were starting to descend back down towards the Hill Inn with him due to the deteriorating conditions.
"A small party of team members soon found the walkers and helped them to the waiting Land Rovers. After an examination by Yorkshire Ambulance Service paramedics, they were then driven down off the hill to the road head."
