A FREE information event named after a founder member of the Skipton Parkinson's Support Group is due to be held at Skipton Town Hall on Thursday, November 28.
The free annual lecture is named after Val Rowley, who was instrumental in setting up what is now the Skipton and District Parkinson's Support Group in 1993 and was a dedicated supporter throughout her life.
This year's event will feature several speakers who will provide attendees with updates on topics related to the fastest growing neurological condition in the world.
They include speech and language therapist, Angela Penny; occupational therapist, Lucy Garside, and Sally Dolton from Parkinson's UK.
A spokesperson from Skipton and District Parkinson's Support Group said: “The Val Rowley Lecture was introduced in memory of one of our longest-serving volunteers, who was instrumental in founding the Skipton group. For our third annual lecture we have invited a range of speakers to talk about different aspects of living with Parkinson's. We hope that people with Parkinson's, their families and friends will find the session both interesting and informative."
The Val Rowley Lecture will take place in the concert hall, Skipton Town Hall on Thursday, November 28. No need to book, doors open at 12.15pm for refreshments, speakers start at 1pm.
