CHILDREN in Skipton will be able to post their Christmas lists to Santa this year from a special North Pole Post Office in the town.

The festive treat, organised by Skipton Business Improvement District (BID), will be handily located in the High Street's Albion Place in a currently vacant unit which will be transformed into a winter wonderland.

During weekends from  the end of November right up to the weekend before Christmas, children will be able to pop in, write a letter to Santa, with the help of elves, and post it to the North Pole, using the talking post box.

Sarah Howsen, Skipton BID manager, thanked Glentrool Asset Management for use of the unit next to Pizza Express which will be transformed from November 30 into a winter wonderland by Odin Events.

She said: “We are thrilled to be able to bring this free magical event to Skipton. Skipton BID bring free events to the town throughout the year so all children can experience fun and unique experiences.

"The North Pole Post Office allows every child to send their letter to Santa, and are guaranteed a response. It is a brilliant addition to the events calendar taking place for Christmas in Skipton and we thank Glentrool for supporting us with the use of the unit."

Skipton kicks off its festive season on Sunday November 24 with the Great Skipton Santa Fun Run and turning on of the Christmas lights, followed by an artisan market on December 1 and the Christmas markets on December 1 and December 8.
