A WALKING group based in South Craven is on the look out for more walk leaders to become part of the team.
South Craven Walking 4 Health organises weekly walks of different lengths all taking place on Monday mornings. Four different ability groups set off on walks of one to 3.5 miles with all completed in one and a half hours. Each week, the walks start and finish in the same place and transport is shared from Cross Hills to reduce the carbon footprint.
Andrea Dalton, group coordinator, said: “The group has been running since 2008, is thriving and would now really benefit from some more walk leaders to help spread the load as each walk requires a walk leader and a back marker. We offer Ramblers Wellbeing walks so all leaders receive full training and are insured. We have more than 100 routes that we use, all mapped and risk assessed.”
Walks include Cononley, Glusburn, Bradley, Cowling, Kildwick, Lothersdale, Sutton, Carleton and Silsden, and occasionally a bit further afield.
