MEMBERS and supporters of Settle's parish church, Holy Ascension, presented a cheque to the nursing team on board Airedale Hospital's mobile cancer care vehicle.
The hospital's 'Hope for Tomorrow' mobile service was Holy Ascension's chosen charity for the last three months. Two fundraising events, a 'mega coffee morning' in July and August's poetry and puddings evening, together with the donations from Sunday coffees, raised a magnificent £1,329.44.
A church spokesperson said: "Many thanks to everyone who supported our fundraisers so generously. This quarter we, at Holy Ascension, are supporting The Children's Society. We have collecting candles available and we hope that you'll bring them back, filled with your collection, and join in our Christingle Celebration on Saturday, December 21 at 3pm."
