CAVE rescue has issued advice for anyone planning to head out walking in the Dales over the next few days.
Following the first snowfall of the year in Craven and colder weather currently forecast to stay up to the weekend, Cave Rescue Organisation is reminding people to make sure they and their kit are 'winter ready'.
A spokesperson for the Clapham based CRO said: "Snow and ice may linger on summits so make sure you set off with what you need for all you trip, not just what it’s like when you leave.
"Being stationary, you’ll cool down quickly so think about making sure that you can keep you or a friend warm if you need to wait for help."
