TWO Skipton residents are celebrating the release of their first self-published children’s book, Nana’s Big Knickers.
This whimsical tale, written by Penny Haygarth, 53, and illustrated by Courtney Tuck Fischer, 25, turns an ordinary laundry day into a hilarious global adventure.
Aimed at children aged 3-8, the book has won hearts across all age groups with its vibrant artwork and playful storytelling.
The creative duo isn’t stopping here. They recently secured a publishing deal for their second book, Ben and Diesel’s Big Adventure, which is set to appear in major bookstores early next year.
Nana’s Big Knickers is available for purchase by private message on Penny’s Facebook page; Penny Haygarth’s Storytime Adventures, and her website at pennyhaygarth.co.uk, or at Phoebe’s Restaurant on Coach Street, where Courtney works.
Penny will also be showcasing the book at Skipton Christmas Market on December 8 and Haworth Christmas Market on December 15.
Penny said: “It’s a dream come true. If anybody had told me two years ago that I’d publish a book, I would have laughed. To anyone thinking of pursuing something they love—go for it! You never know where it could lead.”
With Penny’s storytelling and Courtney’s artistic flair, the duo hopes to inspire budding writers and illustrators.
