Caley Rangers, a Girlguiding unit in Otley, has received a grant of £250 from Skipton Business Finance's Communities Matter scheme.
The scheme, launched in 2023 by the working capital solutions provider, offers small grants to community projects and good causes across the UK.
The Caley Rangers' grant will help to keep membership costs down and will also part-fund a residential trip in 2025.
Davina Scholefield, unit leader of Caley Rangers, said: "The cost of running Girlguiding units is gradually increasing, which makes it hard to balance our aim of remaining accessible to all sections of our community and not having any girls missing out due to it being too expensive.
"This grant from Skipton Business Finance’s Communities Matter scheme comes at a great time as it means we’ve not had to put up membership costs and have been able to set some money aside for next year’s residential trip to Robin Hole in Burley Woodhead."
Sophie Brown, media and communications manager at Skipton Business Finance, added: "It is really important to us that we are supporting groups, like Caley Rangers, who are making a difference in their local communities."
Caley Rangers is part of Girlguiding Leeds.
