SHARE Skipton’s library of things has launched gift certificates just in time for Christmas, so that people can give others the gift of sharing and encourage them to ‘borrow not buy’.
The gift certificates range in value from £5 upwards. For just £10 you can give someone membership of the library of things for a whole year, which includes £3 credit against future borrowing fees. Membership gives recipients the opportunity to borrow more than 350 useful items at low cost, whilst also helping the environment by reducing consumption and waste.
Angela Monaghan, Chair of Share Skipton, said “One of our regular borrowers asked if we could do gift certificates because she thought membership of the library of things would make a great Christmas present for her friends and family. We thought it was a great idea!”
Gift certificates can be purchased online from the Share Skipton website by going to the ‘item collection’ - https://www.shareskipton.org/item-collection - and then clicking on the gift icon.
You don’t need to be a member to buy one and they can be sent to an email address of your choice. They can also be bought from the library of things at 48 Newmarket Street, Skipton, where purchasers can choose to pick up a Share Skipton gift card.
Share Skipton has also extended its opening hours to include Thursday mornings. From this month, it will open Tuesdays 4pm-6pm (formerly 7pm), Thursdays 10am to12pm, and Saturdays 10am to1pm.
