MEMBERS of the Rev Julie Clarkson's three churches were kept busy 'meeting and greeting' people on Saturday at the Castleberg Churches stall in Settle Market Square for the turning on of the town's Christmas lights display.
There were beautiful Christmas cards on sale featuring scenes from the Holy Ascension, Holy Trinity and St Alkelda's churches. Copies of Settle's Graveyard Project and life stories of the Settle to Carlisle Railway Navvies proved to be popular Christmas gifts for those attending the popular town event.
Folk were invited to add a short prayer to the prayer tree and add a "thankful" message to paper chains. A church spokesperson said: "It was great to chat and connect with friends, visitors and newcomers alike."
