HUNDREDS of people are expected to descend on Grassington this weekend for the second of the town's annual Christmas markets.

Dozens of stalls, food and drink, and music from the City of Bradford Brass Band, along with Santa and his grotto, outside the town hall, will make Saturday's event a festive treat for all the family.

Grassington Handbell Ringers will be performing carols and songs at the Methodist Church, Chapel Street at 2.15pm.

There will also be a special coffee morning with mince pies in the morning at Church House, and an arts and crafts fair at the town hall. Admission to the market, which runs from 10am to 4pm, is free, with parking at the National Park car park in Grassington Road, £2.50 for up to four hours.

On Sunday, children can go along to Elf School at the town hall where they will learn all about snowball etiquette and making magic reindeer food; there are two sessions, at 10am and at 1pm; tickets are £12 from Grassington Hub, and children need to be accompanied. Grassington Hub 01756 752222.

Grassington Singers present an 'all singing, all dancing Christmas concert at 3pm on Saturday, December 14 at Grassington Town Hall. Tickets £12 for adults; £6 for under 16s and free for under fives.
