PLANS to convert a farm barn in Cowling to two homes have been submitted to North Yorkshire Council.
The scheme at Woodside Farm, Keighley Road, includes off-street parking and associated infrastructure.
Documents with the planning application state that the traditional stone barn currently has no cavity wall, but the conversion proposes a internal lining wall to incorporate insulation.
Heating will be via air source or Bunsen panels while bathrooms will utilise waste water.
The outside of the barn will remain intact, except for the roof slates which will be removed and re-fixed as part of the renovation.
It is stated: "The development has reasonable scope for climate change mitigation measures and the opportunity to increase insulation to the roof, walls and floor and, if economically feasible in the utilisation of renewable energy in the heating systems."
