A NEW home for Skipton Town Council is being considered, including a move to the town's former county court building.
The council moved into temporary accommodation in Otley Street earlier this year after the collapse of suspended ceilings at its town hall offices, owned by North Yorkshire Council.
Councillors are now looking at alternatives to a return to the town hall including buying a property using money from its reserves from the sale of land several years ago.
It has also been asking people if they would like to see a new 'community hub' as part of the new town council premises.
At its last full council meeting, members heard that of 150 responses to the question 'how interested are you in having a community hub in Skipton?', 84 people responded 'very interested'; 48 were 'somewhat interested' and 18 were 'not at all interested'.
Asked for additional suggestions, several respondents pointed out there were already such facilities in the town and another would 'dilute' the current offering and also be a waste of money.
After failing to come to a resolution at November's full council meeting, it was decided to bring it back to the next full council meeting for further discussion.
