Skipton has won a silver award after the spring judging of Yorkshire in Bloom.
The town was up against Ilkley, which won gold, and Otley, awarded silver gilt, in the town category.
Addingham, classed as a small town, was awarded silver gilt and Ingleton, a “large village”, was given silver.
Chris Beard, chairman of Yorkshire in Bloom, said despite the worst winter in 30 years people had risen to the challenge.
“Our judges have been impressed with the amount of work and commitment they have seen through what has been one of our coldest and longest winters,” he said.
There is still a summer round of judging to take place before final results are announced in September.
Last year, Skipton received a silver following the spring round of judging and a silver rose award at the end of the contest. It also won several other awards for individual projects in the town.
This year, Skipton Business Improvement District (BID) donated money towards floral displays, including hanging baskets and planters at Skipton Bus Station.
