Car parking could be banned along the entrance road to a Steeton nursing home.

Keighley Area Committee – which meets tonight – is expected to impose waiting restrictions on both sides of Steeton Hall Gardens, which lead to Steeton Court.

The measure, requested by residents and the nursing home, would leave space for up to five cars. The road is often filled with cars parked by people catching trains from the railway station.

Parents also park on the road while taking children to Steeton Primary School. This makes it hard for ambulances, service vehicles, residents and visitors to reach the nursing home. Some motorists have to drive on grassed areas to get round parked vehicles.

Bradford Council has received five objections, from a local business and other Steeton residents. Some have requested extra spaces on the railway station car park.

The council said a group was preparing funding bids to pay for an extra car park.
