Free swimming for Craven’s over-60s will be scrapped after July.
The government-funded scheme was introduced at Skipton’s Craven Pool by Craven District Council in April last year.
But the new coalition government has announced the scheme will be scrapped.
Paul Ellis, Craven District Council’s assistant chief executive, said: “The council will urgently consider the future of free swimming for the over-60s now that cuts in government funding have been announced.”
He said free swims would continue until the funding ran out on July 31.
