Police have issued a warning about unsolicited workers.
It follows an incident in which a 94-year-old Skipton woman was apparently approached by two men who told her that her roof needed repairing.
“Fortunately, she told the men to go away as there was nothing wrong with her roof,” said a police spokesman.
Officers are currently liaising with trading standards over the matter.
