I WOULD like to echo the comments of the contributor to your article. (Yorkshire Water starts charging at three reservoir car parks, Craven Herald online, February 15). I too would like to know how Yorkshire Water will be able to measure the success or otherwise of their scheme?
I have used the car parks weekly for many years and can honestly say I have yet to see any fly tipping in any of them. I cannot accept that any statistics they hold on incidence would be privileged information.
The car parking charges will deter people who appreciate keeping fit and looking after their wellbeing from using the footpaths around there. It most certainly will put me off. I suspect it will also mean nuisance parking locally in, say, Timble village and other local roads.
