THE new Government has been in place for 37 days but they are already being blamed for not immediately authorising the full rebuild of Airedale hospital (Concerns over rebuilding of Airedale Hospital, August 11).

The last Government had 14 years to do something about it but failed to even allocate funding for it. They did however manage to simultaneously saddle us with the biggest national debt and the highest tax burden since the second world war.

There is no doubt that Airedale hospital is in dire need of a full rebuild and fingers crossed following the review of capital projects it will go ahead with urgency. It is disappointing but entirely predictable that Robbie Moore is trying to make political capital out of it as he does with any situation. But the fact is that his party left us with the highest waiting times and the lowest patient satisfaction in the history of the NHS.
