WHAT a pathetic letter from the local Labour Chair (Another example of unfounded promises, Craven Herald Letters, August 8) blaming Robbie Moore for the Labour Government's decision to defer the rebuilding of Airedale Hospital. The current Labour Health Minister Wes Streeting promised during the election campaign that Labour was fully committed to the rebuild.
The broken promise is by Labour not Robbie Moore. Robbie Moore has clearly upset local Labour politicians by winning the Keighley and Ilkley seat again against the odds. He won by being an excellent MP and part of that was his campaigning tirelessly, along with Julian Smith from Skipton and Ripon, for a new Airedale Hospital. He was eventually successful with the Conservative Government committing to the rebuild.
Labour has committed to spend billions on large public sector pay rises but has broken promises galore already, including about Airedale. The blame must lie with this Labour Government.
