Steeton 3 Golcar 0
Steeton returned to winning ways in convincing style on Easter Monday.
Andy King had a shot saved before the Chevrons took the lead when Michael Rhodes crossed and King headed home at the far post.
Tim Hird fired wide and Andy Holden went close before goalkeeper Phil Rish-ton did well to thwart a Golcar attack.
Adam Spencer forced a save from Ash Conner in the visitors’ goal and Steeton should have increased their lead when Holden wriggled free in the box but the keeper did well.
The second goal came when Rhodes’ cross was glanced into the corner of the net by Matty Kershaw.
The points were sealed when Spencer fired home the third with a low drive into the bottom corner.
Danny McNulty went close with a header before he got involved in a clash with a Golcar striker that saw both players red-carded.
Steeton – who were due to host Campion last night – welcome Huddersfield YMCA on Saturday.
