For the first time this season games were lost to the weather and soft wickets were the order of the day in the games that were played.

Leaders of the First Division, Oakworth, suffered one of their very rare lacklustre days on their travels to West Craven, and returned to Cure Hill having suffered a mammoth defeat by 151 runs.

Thornton batted first and walloped 263-5 in their overs with Anthony Giles scoring 79 and Ajmal Choudrhy 69. In the visitors' reply Michael Scarborough top scored with 33 as Anwar claimed 5-31. The winners go top on run rate as Oakworth slip to third place.

Surprise packet Crossflatts are second after they got he better of Bingley Congs in a 25 over per side game at Beckfoot. The visitors were put in and made a creditable 117-6 in their overs with Mohammed Adil hitting a fine 55no as Neil Copping claimed 4-58 off 13 overs.

Copping was the lynchpin for the homesters and after making 21 including a couple of enormous sixes he was bowled having a big heave-ho. Wickets then tumbled in quick fashion to see them out for just 61. Qamar Ayub took 5-24 and Mick Addy 4-5 in just two overs which included three wickets in four balls.

Fourth placed Bradley made the short journey north to lock horns with Embsay. On a low slow wicket the Shires Laners struggled to 103 with Rob Bateman making 27 as Tim Rudden took 4-24 and John Duffey 4-33. 25 extras was the second highest contributor to the total.

The South Craveners were never in the hunt and were hustled out for just 65 in reply. John Metcalfe taking 6-12 off 19 overs and Steve Speak 3-26, as nine batsmen were bowled and a caught and bowled being the odd man out.

There was a nerve racking finish at Cowling where visitors Glusburn just got home by one wicket off the last ball of the match. The homesters went first and made 161 with S Hassan scoring 50 and Steve Richardson 46. In the bowling stakes, Sean Williamson took 4-32 and Mark Pickles 3-28. Mark Price 43 and Williamson 37 kept the Park Filed side in the successful chase despite the efforts of Richardson 4-31 and Martyn Dalby 3-58.

Barrowford are the clear leaders at the top of the Second Division as they endeavour to bounce straight back up to the top flight. They restricted Haworth Road to 121-8 on their travels. Then Neil Hargreaves 53no and S Hewitt 37 guided the Bull Holme side to an impressive seven wicket win.

Up at Street Lane Ingrow St John's were indebted to Colin Bottomley who carried his bat for 75no as the Saints made 111-6 in a 35 over per side game. Visitors Ingrow fell 27 runs short of their target as M Qadeer, Anthony Haigh and A Razza claimed 3 wickets apiece.

Foulridge's trip over the hill to Chatburn proved to be fruitful as they won by 18 runs.

The Noyna side scored 145 with Chris Brooker-Carey leading the way with 36 as Russell Braithwaite, Rod Booth and Anthony Booth snapped up three wickets each. Richard Shovelton with 47 was the best scorer for the Ribble Valley side but sadly nobody else could match his efforts.

Glusburn II saw visitors Long Lee make 170-8 in their innings with skipper Matt Taylor making 64 as veteran Bryan Hollis took 4-42. The homesters could only manage 133-9 in reply which was very creditable given that they were 12-5 at one time. Alan Coney made 38 as Taylor took 4-41.

Another side hoping to make a quick return to a higher level, Pendle Forest sit on top of the Third Division. They entertained Ingrow St John's II and knocked them over for just 87. The Fence side strolled home for the loss of five wickets. Sam Halstead was undoubtedly the Man-of-the-Match with 5-28 and 52no.

Unlike their first team Oakworth II were in fine fettle at home to Gargrave. The visitors made a healthy 167-9 with Taz Malik making 52 and S Grimshaw 44 as 15 year old Luke Taylor took 3-32. The Cure Hill side roared to a four wicket victory with 11 overs to spare. Drew Duffy made 50, Steve Powell 38 and 15 year-old Jack Hainsworth 35.

Third are Wilsden who won a very low scoring game at Skipton CI. John Drake took 8-18 as the visitors crashed to 49 all out.

However, this was 20 too many for the Sandy lands side, who were dismissed for a paltry 29 with D Hewer claiming 6-8.

Mark Batty scored 56 as Cowling made 120-7 at Ramper Park. However Martyn Windle made 50 to help Carleton to the points by three wickets.

Riddlesden are top of the Fourth Division despite not playing up at Sandy Lane II.

Second, a point behind, are Crossflatts II who enjoyed themselves at the expense of visitors Thornton II. The homesters rattled up 193-5 in their innings with Mark Jones scoring 67 and J Brooksbank 65. The Booth Bridge Lane side could only muster 92 in reply as S Gage took 3-15 and D Mason 3-29.

Two centuries were scored in this division, the first coming at Long Lee where Shabaz Ahmed scored 100no to help his side to a very healthy 236-6. Haz Haider chipped in with 43 and Steve Tempest 35. Visitors Haworth Road II were dismissed from 70 with Ahmed taking 5-15 and Haider 5-45.

Pendle Forest II were deeply indebted to Alex Summerscales who contributed 119 of their 168. H Williamson took 6-58 and A Stokes 3-28. The Keighley side perished for 91 in reply with N Crook top scoring with 31no.

Bradley II got the better of a low scoring game at home to Bingley Congs II. The homeside were hustled out for 76 with M Baines taking 6-27 off 18 overs. The Beckfoot side were then knocked over for 61 as Andy Holmes took 4-20 and James Burke 3-32.

Haworth WE are the only side with a 100 per cent record in the Fifth Division. They travelled to Gargrave II and came away the points after winning by six wickets.

Cullingworth II remain in second spot after slipping up at Cononley II. The home side were restricted to 78 in their innings. The visitors then slumped to 58 all out with Herbie Starkey taking 4-38 and Joe Stead 5-20.

Eldwick & Gilstead II are third. They received three points when Chatburn II were unable to raise a team.

Glusburn III lost to Riddlesden by 7 wickets at Ramper Park whilst Foulridge went down by 13 runs at home to Oakworth III. There was no play between Sutton II and Skipton CI II.

Finally Denholme III made 158-8 with P Greenwood making 50no and T Greenwood 40. The latter then took 7-16 to shoot the Fence side out for 63.
