Skipton got off to a disastrous start with opener Kevin Owens run out in the last ball of the third over going for an ambitious second run in their derby clash with Addingham.

More trouble was to follow when Azhar Mahmood was bowled by Hall who then claimed the wicket of Stephen Carling to leave Skipton reeling on 24 for three.

Captain Damian Smith and vice-captain Rob Walker then set about recovering the situation taking the score into three figures before Smith was out for a battling 37 With the score at 101 and four wickets down in the 38th over Skipton needed to step on the gas and this they did.

They finished with a total of 204-9 with wicketkeeper Walker scoring 70 before being run out by a direct hit.

Ricky Martin played a cameo innings in the short time allowed to him making a quickfire 26.

Addingham needed the experienced pair of Phil Smith and Darrell Robinson to perform. This they did with a match winning opening partnership of 181 runs to take the game away from Skipton.

Robinson has taken a liking to batting against Skipton, having scored 111 and 79 in the league fixtures between the two last season.

Ajay Rajput once again bowled well in his 21 over stint finishing with three for 81 as Addingham reached the required total with just one over remaining.

On their own admission Skipton were just a little below par in all departments on the day.

Praise must be given to the experienced Addingham pairing, who timed their innings to perfection without ever having to force the pace.

In an exciting game at Addingham, Skipton Seconds finished just four runs short of the 181 runs required in a drawn game. For the home side C Atkins scored 57 and R Rishworth 54 not out.

Skipton captain Graham Summersgill, still on the way back from injury, bowled an impressive spell of 18 overs taking three for 47. He then shared in a partnership of 100 with opener Andrew Facey as they attempted to overhaul the Addingham total.

With two overs to go Skipton required nine runs for victory but G Barton then bowled a wicket maiden taking the valuable wicket of Facey. Skipton man-aged just four runs in the last over leaving Addingham with four points and Skipton two.

Yasa Ali hit his second consecutive century to lead Silsden to a winning draw against Upper Wharfedale at Grassington on Saturday.

Batting in the fourth position, Ali scored 126 runs to help Silsden to a massive total of 277-7. Lee Bilbrough did his part by adding a knock of 47.

In reply Upper Wharfedale put on a decent total of 219-8, but crucially were not bowled out which allowed them to take a share of the points.

They were led J Freebury's 76 and Australian overseas player Paddy McKenna's (62).

Ali was also among the wickets for Silsden, taking 4-64 in 16 overs. P Khan added 4-72 in 16 overs.
