BARNOLDSWICK Town recovered from a taxing opening 20 minutes to record a superb 4-1 home win over Kendal Town in the North West Counties Football League Premier Division last night.
Barlick are now top of the table, having beaten Winsford United 3-1 in their opener on Saturday.
They had to come from behind to win that one too, courtesy of goals from Gareth Hill, Daniel Fagan and Kuda Chingwaro, and it was the same story last night.
Kendal had numerous chances to open the scoring early on, and it was no surprise when they took the lead through Finley Lynch.
But Chingwaro restored parity almost instantly, flicking home an Andy Hill free-kick.
Brad Knox put Barnoldswick in front after 36 minutes, latching on to a blocked shot from Ben Ashton and finishing nicely from just outside the box.
Former Eccleshill United striker Eli Hey made it 3-1 before the break, tapping in at the back post from an Andy Hill corner.
Harry Smith made some brilliant saves for Barlick early in the second half to preserve that two-goal advantage, but Fagan, Andy Hill and Mitchell George all had chances to increase the home side's lead too.
Heading into the final 15 minutes, Gareth Hill put the ball just over following a corner, before Kendal had a goal disallowed for offside.
Chingwaro eventually made it four for Barnoldswick late on, finishing neatly into the bottom corner after George dummied Gareth Hill's ball in.
Barnoldswick's next game is at home to Bradford side Albion Sports in the FA Cup extra preliminary round.
