AT the weekend, Wharfedale entertained Blackburn in a pre-season fixture that would include up to 30 players for new Head Coach Simon Verbickas to assess.
The game was split into three 30 minute sessions and Blackburn won the toss and elected to play into the wind in the first period.
A brace from Jake Foster, both converted by Josh Jarrode, put the visitors 14-0 up.
The second period saw a Wharfedale revival and Oscar Canny was at the heart of it, being involved with both tries to level the scores at 14-14. Wharfedale would go into third period with a 28-21 lead.
After conceding an equalising try, Dale would go on to win the fixture 38-28, rounding off a pulsating friendly fixture after Omari Kaup-Samuels sealed the victory.
