NORTH Ribblesdale travelled to Baildon on Saturday in hope of collecting their first away win.
Playing into a breeze they started very brightly and after 15 phases of play, Adam Middleton crashed over for the opening score.
However, Baildon soon got a foot hold in the game with Mark Duxbury causing Ribblesdale all kinds of problems. Two tries, one converted gave the home side a 12 - 5 lead with five minutes of the first half left.
Defensive lapses then gifted another two tries and a penalty before the break to see Baildon lead 25 - 5.
In the second half Ribb fought their way back into it, with Michael Carr, Adam Middleton and Dan Wills causing problems for Baildon, but they couldn’t quite conjure up a try.
Against the run of play, missed tackling let Baildon in for two late tries, which gave a flattering scoreline to the hosts. Ribblesdale head into the break needing more consistency in defence and head coach Andrew Davidson has plenty to work on, 35-5 FT.
