A WELL-KNOWN cricket character was on-hand at Skipton's annual awards ceremony.
Bowler-turned-commentator Charles Dagnall gave an entertaining talk about his life and experiences on and off the crease to 74 members, players, sponsors and friends of the club at Herriot’s Hotel.
The event began with a minute's silence to mark the recent death of club stalwart Maisie Marsden.
The award winners were as follows: Moeed Shafiq (Victor Moug Memorial Trophy for Most Improved Player), Zach Hilton (Gerry Walker Memorial Trophy for Junior Clubman), Holly Brennan and Lily Bell (Norris Crossley Memorial Trophy for Most work off the field), Mila Feeney (Ronnie Stott Memorial Trophy for Junior Endeavour), Keith Owens (Roller Award). First team; Gary Owens and Ben Walker. Second team; Malcolm Birks, Moeed Shafiq and Finlay Walker. Third team; Aaron Macrae, Finlay Walker and Luke McCormick-Merry. Under-18s; Finlay Walker,Adam Harding and Alfie Price. Ladies; Saffron Ellis, Orla Clossick, Lauren Facey and Helen Scott.
